On March 2, 2010, former Sen. John Warner (R-VA), who served on environmental, armed services and homeland security committees, spoke at The Ohio State University’s Faculty Club on how solving global climate change can help ensure America’s security.
In addition, the Glenn School’s Dr. Andrew Keeler, retired Vice Admiral Dennis McGinn and Don McConnell, president of Battelle Energy Technology each gave a presentation on the topic of reducing climate threats and identify opportunities for developing clean energy industries.
The Pew Project on National Security, Energy and Climate and the John Glenn School of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University cosponsored the public forum.
The Pew Project highlights critical links between national security, energy independence, the economy and climate change. The project gathers together science and military experts to examine new ways to combat climate change, protect national security, increase energy independence and preserve the nation’s natural resources.
