This course provides students with a perspective on the need and methods for managing contract relationships and outsourced services in the public sector. The course is designed to enable students to both diagnose problems and opportunities facing public sector organizations and to begin to identify and develop strategies for improving organizational performance. As such, the course may appeal to students interested in managing organizations that deliver goods and services in a variety of sectors (e.g., the arts, health services, environmental services, science and technology) and those students who have an interest in managing contracts and vendors in government or not-for-profit organizations.
