Anand DesaiProfessor
Professor Desai did his doctoral work in public policy analysis at the University of Pennsylvania after completing studies at universities in India and the UK.
His research interests include measurement of performance and evaluation of the provision of public services. He has worked on methods for measuring effectiveness and efficiency in the public sector and the use of statistical and operations research models for public policy analysis.
His current research interests include the use of complexity and systems perspectives in the study of public policy. He teaches courses on quantitative methods, information systems and the logic of inquiry.
Professor Desai holds a courtesy appointment in the Management Science Department of the Fisher College of Business and is a member of the faculty of the Environmental Science Graduate Program.
He has served as a member of of the Executive Council and the Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation of the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration and as a member of the Policy Council of the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Public Affairs Education.
Professor Desai is a Co-PI of CEOS (ceos.osu.edu), which is an an NSF Advance project funded to study and improve the working environment for women faculty in science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines.
