Washington Speakers Series
To encourage collaboration and resource sharing among the many universities and other institutions that have a presence on Capitol Hill, the John Glenn School of Public Affairs and WISH (Washington Intern Student Housing) are hosting a speakers series. The events have attracted many of the Glenn School's alumni and friends in the D.C. area, many of whom are serving as mentors to the Glenn Fellows.

Senator Sherrod Brown

Sherrod Brown is the junior United States Senator from Ohio, and a member of the Democratic Party. Before his election to the Senate in 2006, Brown served as a member of the House of Representatives from Ohio's 13th district and as Ohio's Secretary of State.

Brown was the ranking minority member on the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Health Subcommittee. He also served on the Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet and the Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection. As a member of the House International Relations Committee, he also served on the Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific. He was a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

Brown's wife, Connie Schultz, is a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist.

Brown is the author of two books: Congress from the Inside: Observations from the Majority and Minority Myths of Free Trade: Why American Trade Policy Has Failed
